Melina Macall is a British transplant to the USA. With no labeling of GMOs in the USA, the only way to avoid these products was to go organic. Finding this prohibitively expensive, Melina founded Boxed Organics. Over the years Melina’s expertise in sustainable food systems has found many outlets. She writes, lectures at universities and has created a number of community food justice programs including Guerrilla Gardening and The United Tastes of America and its keystone program working with refugee cooks, Syria Supper Club. Melina is currently involved in researching agroecology, green medicine, and popular education in Cuba.

Melina is a sought after public speaker and consultant on many aspects of food justice, sustainability, and Cuba. Melina consults to school districts on improving lunch and food programs.
